New range hood question

Hey Gang,

We are going to install a new range hood in our kitchen. The ones we are looking at are about 600 cfm. It is likely more cfms that we need.

However, I have been told we don't want to rob our furnace of combustible air.

We have a high efficiency furnace. I thought most of the combustible air is brought in from the outside.

Do we still need to be concerned with this?

Should I just contact our local HVAC gurus?

Thanks,

Not really sure what a hood has to do with a furnace, honestly. I've been in the construction business for some time and have never heard of a kitchen hood having any relation to a furnace.

Could you explain a little more in depth?
This response is totally from a common sense approach so please do note put a lot of confidence in my view. I am a native Floridian not a Northerner.

It seems as though a range hood only gets used about a half hour at a time unless you have a really large family, if that's the case you should be living in a home large enough to maintain the proper air levels.
