New member with new house

I've bought a house that is 30 years old. Before I move in, I have to update and upgrade it, including new floors, painting the walls, new appliances, kitchen, bathrooms and maybe enclosing the screened porch. I'm not sure where to get started with this. Or example, I'm planning to have wood laminate installed throughout the house (except the bathroom). What do you do first, paint the house or install the floor?

Have you already picked out your laminate? I got mine at www.builddirect.com My sister and her husband also ordered theirs through that website. I installed mine about 4 years ago and haven't had 1 problem with it (knock on wood).
