Good day all members.
I am looking for some help/tips on installing/rewiring my phone line inside the house to upgrade existing phone lines to include a dedicated DSL line to the main computer room and to the HTPC entertainment center in the living room.
(Plus obviously new wire to the phone jack in the kitchen, computer room and maby one in the living room. Why just install new wire for the DSL line when half of the work will be to fish wires LOL :thumbup
Outside of the house I have an old Bell Canada demarcation point for a single phone line. It is very old but it still works. I was thinking of replacing that old relic with an all in one Demarcation Box/Surge Protector. I have done some research/homework, but I can't seem to find anything on the net locally to purchase the demarc box.
Also, I was thinking that cat5e should be ok to use, but was considering using cat6 for the internal wiring from the demarc box to all inside jacks.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
