Hi. I'm new here. I'm currently in an engineering class at my high school, but dont know how to determine the size of the beams that I need for my building. Can anybody offer any advice?
Your engineering teacher or books should have some instructions to use..... allowing for local building codes for both one and two story buildings. There should be some simple formulas to calculate based on load, support span, type of materials used, etc.
You’re engineering class teacher should provide you with standard building code calculation spec’s for one and two story dwellings to size the beams needed. If they are over sized then he should show you how to calculate the load that is required.
