Hi I have an old Lenox Gas forced air furnace (no a/c) that needs to be replace. I do want to replace with type and central air, but don't know where to begin.
Can you help with what I should look for, size, power (however that is measured), efficiency, and is there anything I should stay away from or be aware of?

Any recommendations on brand/models? Looking for a quality unit that isn't going to break the bank. This Lenox has served us well past its expected life span.

Thanks,

ignore the brands, get full model number when getting quotes.

air duct system needs to be checked before adding a/c - may not be suitable.

load calculation should be done, don't let contractor just size by square footage.
