Our house was a foreclosure house and the bank replaced the carpet with cheap builder special. The vinyl floors were thin and nicked up several times over the 2 years we lived with them.

We went with: Dream Home - Nirvana V3 8mm Havana Mahogany Laminate Flooring (Single Strip). We took several samples and tried to beat them up, soak them in water, overall abuse them.

I liked how natural the planks look and the boards have grooves on the edges. Each plank is an individual board not sheets like other floors I have laid. The boards come in 3 different sizes too.

It was about 800 sq feet of tile and laminate but no carpet is a great thing! Still have carpet upstairs but the down stairs is much cleaner!

I think the floors look great. The only thing I would suggest is to replace your baseboards to match the new floors. Nice job.
