I am installing a new faucet and drain. On the drain , the pivot rod is too short and does not reach the lift rod strap.
Do they sell longer pivot rods , or do I bend the strap towards the pivot rod

The distance from drain to strap is 10 inches, my pivot shaft is 5 inches. The bend of the strap would not be enough

You may need a longer pop-up pull rod assy., (12in). They sell longer ones at the big box stores in the plumbing isle. Just a suggestion.

I went to HD and they had nothing, I'll try Lowes, someone had suggested joining two straps together and then forming it into a "Z" shape.
I do not get what they mean, does anybody have a pic or diagram of this

Z shape just means bending the strap in any angle to get it closer to the rod. But it doesn't work well. My parents have one. It swivels around the rod and also hits the flex hose, etc. Next time, consider brands that have cable controlled pop ups.
