Hi,
I live in a ranch condo, about 1200 SF. I have a full attic with easy access. Currently, my heat and AC run through my concrete slab. The air is cold in the winter by the time it gets to the outer rooms. I tried to have the ducts cleaned due to some serious allergy irritations and I was told it can't be done well because of poor access to the actual clay pipes the air is going through.
I live in Ohio. I want to have new duct work ran through my attic and currently I have 6 vents.
Any idea of general cost here?
I am at a loss and I don't know if this is the best solution.

There is actually a sister site to this one http://www.hvacsite.com/ that may be able to better answer. As for the number of vents, it is easier to have at least a minimum of three bids on something like this, than trying to get an answer on the web. As for the old duct work, you would have to find out if the contractor would take care of closing up those openings once the old equipment is removed, and would they also sub out having a drywall contractor come in to repair where they have to cut into the walls to place the cold air returns, or in the case that they may have to place heating ducts on the walls, vs in the ceiling to help better distribute the heated & conditioned air.

Thanks.
I do have 2 estimates set up....I just don't want to be completely caught off guard when I hear a number. I am a little apprehensive because the guy who normally works on my furnace won't even do an estimate for this.

that is a pro only site. And does not answer home owner questions of any type.

Only contractors in your area can give a price on the work yo u want done. So call several.
