Getting new driveway. Were getting pavers as a border and asphalt as the rest. Is asphalt the best economical way to go? Anything to know( ratio's etc.) when getting this done? Thanks.

Whether asphalt is the best choice or not for a driveway depends on where you live. If you live in a colder climate it's definitely the best choice because it won't crack like concrete will. If you live in a warmer climate concrete is the best choice in many cases because it holds up better and doesn't require maintenance. Asphalt no matter what the climate is requires more maintenance. You'll have to seal it regularly (every 2 or 3 years in most cases) and it will need replacing much more frequently than concrete does. It's been a long time since I lived anyplace was a asphalt driveway so I can't give you any good pricing information.

b-top d/w's are flexible while, comparatively, conc d/w's are not,,, generally useful life for conc is greater than b-top,,, base compaction is often more critical for conc than b-top,,, properly installed joint pattern's most critical for conc while b-top is pave w/o joints
