We have mad our decision and are getting ready to replace the old cracked driveway in the picture below with a new concrete paver double wide driveway. But I am starting to have second thoughts that a double wide driveway will be a bit overwhelming and may ruin the aesthetics of the house. Anyone care to comment. We have even thought about putting in two single wide driveways, one on opposite sides of the house.

Maybe just doubled area for parking. Parking on lawn means faster rust on the under the truck.
Expanding on that....make the new drive just a 'little' wider, but give yourself a double or triple parking pad.

Since it's not directly in front of your house it will overwhelm the looks of your home. I do like the suggestion made above however of making the parking area double wide but not making the entire driveway double wide.

Maybe it's just me, but I would be tempted to put down gravel. It creates less of a drainage issue and you don't get the unsightly cracks or the periodic sealing people want you to do or depend nearly as much on having the guys who install it really know what they're doing. And if you don't like it ten years from now, you don't have to break it up to haul it away.

I don't know the property but would also be a little concerned about how close a driveway on the right gets toward that line of plantings which may mark an edge of the property. You might need a variance to put something that close to the property edge, but the fact that you already have a garage there might help you get it...

(I'm a big fan of respecting town rules on these things--some are silly, but they do exist to protect neighbors).

(Also, looks like a nice truck! :))

Ayuh,.... I think it will look just Fine, if ya leave the street ramp at present width, 'n expand the driveway, 'bout 1' to the right of the tracks of the truck,...

It'd be double width 'bout 2/3s to 3/4s the length beyond the sidewalk,....
sidewalk, 'n street apron stay the same,.....

'n,.. Make darn sure the whole thing pitches the water, Away,.....
