Hi All,

I'm putting a bathroom in the basement and I need to dig a new floor drain for the bathtub and toilet. Unfortunately, the floor is pretty uneven. So, the question is, should I level the floor first and then cut out the floor drain, or cut out the floor drain first and then level the floor?

Thanks!

I would do the plumbing first and just leave pipe sticking out of the floor to be cut later. They usually put and 8x8" piece of foam around the tub pipe so you have room to adjust to fit the tub later.
