when installing new counter tops......Is it best to turn the counter top over and make your cut from the bottom side or cut from the top? I was under the impression that cutting from the bottom is best so the counter top doesn't get chiped!!!!!!
If the blade of your saw makes the cut coming up, i.e. from underneath the way a circular saw balde does, then cut from the bottom where the blade actually hits the hard, laminate plastic first (not after it cuts through the wood).
It reduces chipping - although not a major factor if the blade is sharp. Depends a bit, but that's a general rule,
