Hi, we removed 30 year old carpet from my mom's house. the pad is stuck to the hardwood floors, which we don't care about saving as she had animals over the years and what floor you can see is damaged. We want to have new carpet and pad installed. Can we do this without removing the old pad which is paper thin but stuck to the floor. If it needs to b removed what is best way? and quickest. Thanks much

I'm assuming it's bubble rubber. It had a clay base and turned hard, flattened out and stuck to the floor. Yes, you can install over it, but if there is odor from the animals, you will still smell it.

Only way to get it up is to scrape it. I have installed over it many times.
