I am considering using Never Rot lumber to build a frame to support a 2' x 6' granite counter top with sink. This will be on our exterior patio. I was looking at using 1x3 stiles and 1x6 rails top and bottom which will need to support the granite (3/4") and kitchen size SS sink. I believe this frame constructed with poplar, teak, or oak would support the counter. Will the Never Rot provide comparable support? Any experience would be appreciated.

"Never Rot" is marketing mumbo jumbo. Pressure treated lumber is rated by the amount of chemical it's been subjected to.
What 's the percentage?

Never Rot is a synthetic PVC lumber. It advertisements are mainly about door & window trim & decorative trim.

They offer what is called Trimplanks which I am considering for the counter framing. My concern is with it's lateral stability under load and it's joint carrying ability. I am planning on using pocket hole Joinery.

I have seen this material used for decks in a lot of the DIY TV shows and liked the outdoor serviceability it appears to offer.

These are not structural and should not be used as such. They are decorative items.

There is no such thing as plastic lumber. It does not exist. It never has and never will, despite what HD may tell you.

Lumber is wood, it always has been and always will be. There is no amount of marketing that can change that.

You don't want to use 1x TRIM material to frame a support for a granite counter:eek: think of building your bathroom vanity structure out of baseboards....similar thing..

Maybe build it properly with proper framing material then skirt it with something nice.
