Need to raise base of miter saw 1/32"

I built a miter saw stand with extension wings, which due to my error are about 1/32" above the level of the metal saw table. What's the easiest/cheapest way to raise the entire saw 1/32" so it's level -- preferably something I can get at Home Depot or Lowers? I found some 1/32" plywood online, but don't feel like spending $20 for it + shipping. Thanks.

It's essentially this. My saw table sits 1/32 lower than that 12" wide top in the diagram. I need to get it flush without recutting all my spacers.

believe it or not playing cards, i use them for micro shims all the time. the thickness of the card is roughly 1 / 32" if i need it to be thicker i fold it.. then double it etc.. the plastic from pop bottles works well for exterior micro shims

When I built mine I set the saw height a little low so I could shim to perfection with cereal box tops.:thumbsup:

Steel shim stock is nice----aluminum from cans works---washers--wood ripped on the table saw---

I commonly cut pop cans into sheets and use them for shims. folded over in two or possibly three get you about 1/32 inch. Get em the right hieght and staple them down where the saw feet will set on them. Another I have used is old tin can lids.

Another option might be to check the foot pads on the bottom of the saw and adjust using them, if not adjustable you may be able to thread screws/bolts into them and make them adjustable. Just pick a small taper headed one drill a small hole and tap it. For 1/32" you would want to counter sink the hole so that the screw/ bolt could be run flush to the bottom.

I can't count the number times I have done exactly the same thing, as a result I have had a fair bit of experience with this...lol

yah the only thing with aluminum that thin is that its really sharp
