need some input on a new construction framing

I need some input on a new construction framing. My framer framed all the way to roof deck before installing structural steel columns in exterior structural walls. He had them shored up with double 2x4's. The walls are 2x6 and he cut out the double 2x6 top plates, and bottom plates. The2x6 wall is now cut away from the other two sections of the what once was a continuous wall. The framer says its not a problem
ot a Evidently the inspector has not caught it yet nothing has been repaired. It my opinion this in violation of 602.6.1
