Hello pros! New to this site but familiar with the way it works. So here we go.
Doing some work on my house, and would like to replace the registers. Problem is, the current ones are not "flush" mounted to the walls, they stick out 1 inch. I put an updated one in that is flush and it looked horrible. So I ripped down 1 inch dimensional oak to match the flooring, packed the new register out, very ugly. Went so far as to paint the oak white to match register and almost threw up. Not a good looking install.

Question is, where to find registers that are similar to my old ones. I really dont want to downsize them and replace the baseboard/flooring 1/4 round to clean this mess up.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks biggles for the reply.
Before posting my question I did take some time to search this site for information, and came across that link along with a few others. I did not see something similar to what I currently have, although I might be missing it due to my "novice" level of experience in this.
This house I have is really tough to work on, built back in the day when whatever the builder had on hand was made to fit into the house. I have to rework a lot of things (just did the doors) rather than custom order, and its a pain.
Hope these registers/vents are not gonna cause the same grief!
