Need silicone for Grohe faucet?

1139 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  DIYGST
I attached the manual of the faucet I am about to install.
It doesn't indicate you need any kind of putty or silicone for the faucet base. They do have indicate the drain needs putty with a little picture.

Normally, the water won't make it up the base? Or maybe the base is rubbery, but the faucets I had before with similar setup is hard plastic.

If you think I need silicone or putty, please tell me where to apply it.

It's going onto a porcelain sink.

Not on the faucet unless your a person that laps water from the sink all over the faucet to clean it. I usually use a damp rag.
Hi thanks for your reply. I opened the package and the bottom of the inside base does have a "felt" like ring around the plastic. So it is good to go as is.
