Trying to tile for the first time. Went to Lowes.......got all the supplies (well.....almost). Accidently used the unsanded grout to adhere the tiles to the backer board in our shower (most tiles put up AND grouted using the grout). Need to get them off! Job started 5 days ago and last tiles put on yesterday. Wanting to do this without damaging the tiles and backer board. Any help/suggestions appreciated.

You might be okay leaving it as is---------is the work showing signs of failure?

As to removing the tiles and reusing them----not to likely---they may pop right off, but they might just break up---or pull hunks out of the backer.

Thank you. We are right in the middle of the project so we don't yet know if it's a fail yet..... Panicked when we realized we were using grout. Wasn't sure the grout would hold the tiles (especially in such a damp environment as a shower.)

Unsanded grout should work if the tiles are soft bisque ceramic. I'd probably leave them alone after trying to remove a few and they don't just pop off, unless it's just a small area done by mistake. They're probably stuck pretty good.

What were you intending to use?
