since my lost post was closed (I dont see why) I just need to know advice if painting over walls with zero-voc paint will cover up the smell and VOC from the previous paint? I have a room that smells bad and its traced to the paint i used and i have no clue on what to do now.

You should contact Valspar directly, and tell them you want a rep to come to your home. I can't see any reason why you would be having this problem, but if there truly is an issue, it can be a legal one if, as you say, the condition is causing sickness. No one here is going to give you advice on this matter, not because we don't want to, but because it wouldn't be prudent.

thank you for your response, I plan on calling Valspar but don't expect much to come of that. I'm more concerned with how to fix the problem, if i can paint over or if i need to rip out the drywall and start over which im trying to avoid doing.
If you tell them exactly what you told us in your earlier post, trust me, someone will be out. And they'll be concerned with helping you get it rectified in a way that will limit their exposure, and yours. Your issue is just simply beyond the scope of what we do, nothing personal.

The best thing you can do right now is to contact a good lawyer, and have him contact the paint manufacturer on your behalf as your attorney.
Good luck, dis. Hate to see a child be ill from paint- or maybe not paint. Who knows. But, burden of proof is on you in court (if it happens). More importantly, the child- Im sure hes out of there now. Hey, tear down the walls and start a new? maybe. Your decision, though. I never even heard/seen water based paint stink for that long. No way. Even oil- can last for say- a month.
Even if youtear down/build new walls, how will you "paint"? Maybe wallpaper(?) Good luck.

The Signature line is basically <50 g/L in VOC. They can confirm this, and hopefully you can move forward. The moderator closed the thread to the legal implications of this situation. Good luck to you and your family.
