We are beginning constuction on a new F/R 22' X 22' and I have hit a wall picking a color scheme. My house is done in earth tones of red, green, terracotta and browns with a moorish/global feel. I would like something different , but not too much of a departure from the rest of the house. Cozy, romantic, maybe some vintage, but not too feminine. I have already purchased a chenille tan sofa (10' X 11.5') extra deep and oversized. Although the rest of the house is hardwood I would like to implement shag or plush (photo attached) wall to wall carpeting in a mocha or very forgiving color because of my 3 dogs. I have attached a photo of what the wall unit/ built in tv will look like although I'm not sure if I'll use stacked stone or slate.
Help!! I can't think of what other colors to add to brown and beige that will not make the room look too 70ish or "neutral". The room will have 2 6X6 windows which will add a bit of natural light. Thanks for your suggestions.
