The instructions are very vague and I can’t find any help on their website. It’s a Kingston Brass faucet. It comes with 2 cone washers and 2 coupling nuts. The instructions say to assemble the washers and lock nuts on the inlet shanks and then connect the water supply lines. How do I connect the supply lines with the nuts on the shanks?

what’s wrong with the coupling nuts?

I believe they are for solid chrome or copper pipe. The nut goes on the pipe and then the cone washer. Cone part pointing up into the shank. Then the nut is supposed to compress the washer into the shank and around the pipe.

The nuts and washed you were sent with are intended for use in exposed piping. Kingston sells these supply lines in chrome, brushed nickel, oil rubbed bronze and brass. They might have a few other colors as well but the point is to have the supply lines presentable when there is no cabinet to block the view.
