need help with floor

just started a kitchen reno and tore up old ceramic tile floor. the old tile was laid on a deck mud floor containing radient floor heating. the old tiles came up pretty clean but the old thinset was left behind in most of the floor. the area is 17 feet by 25 feet so i would like to keep the old mud floor intact if possible. can a self leveler be poured on the old thinset and mud floor to make it smooth for new tile. and should i paint on a bonding agent before pouring the leveler. thanks for any help.
