Hi all,
New here. Joined because I'm stuck with a washing machine valve problem. As you might be able to see in the photo, it's leaking. My start point for fixing it is to see what's on Google, but I can't find anywhere on the entire internet a picture of the same type of valve.
Can anyone tell me what make this is, if they're still available (the house is 30 years old so I guess the valve is the same age,) and most important, how I can fix the leak?
Many thanks in advance,
N

That thing looks half plastic, so my guess is that it was not intended to be repairable. I am figuring its time for replacement.

But if you want to give it a shot, my guess is that you can unscrew the center lever. Then possibly the plastic end cap unscrews. You might need to unscrew the end cap on the other end just to push out the spool, but it rather looks like its up against a wall. Some chance its just an o-ring that needs replacement.

If you want a similar shut off valve Google "dual washing machine shut off valve". Watts and others make them.

Not sure if video below will be of any help. The model below looks like a better quality valve that was meant to be repairable.

It's just your basic shut off for hot and cold going to washing machine. Available at any big box store.

Where exactly is it leaking can't really tell from pic?. sometimes just tightening up or replacing the supply lines helps if it's leaking from there. If it's leaking from the valve/valve handle, the shut valve will need to be replaced. See video sps posted may help.

Thanks for the quick replies guys.
It's leaking from around the two plastic handles - there's one for hot and one for cold - and from the plastic cap on the right end - the end where's it's up against the side of the enclosure.
I did find a name on the enclosure - it's a Specialty Products Model WMOB-M, and Specialty were taken over by LSP Products long ago.
Am I right in thinking I'll have to replace the whole enclosure assembly? Looks like a bit of work if that's the case.

It looks like there are 2 chrome nuts under the hose connections. Shut the house water down, take the hoses off and see if you can take that body off. You maybe able to replace with a different brand but same style.

I had the same problem. I cut out some wallboard, replaced the entire box and patched the wall. It took a couple of hours plus some paint touch ups. The old one lasted 30 years. If this one lasts 30 years it will see me through.

I had what looks like exactly the same valves. When they started to leak, I replaced them with Sharkbite valves. Very easy to do (no soldering), and they work like a charm.

I did notice that if you unscrew the big flat-head screws on the front of this old-style valve, you get access to rubber washers and whatnot. So if you wanted you could probably figure out how these work and get replacement parts to stop the leak. I found it easier to just replace the entire valve than to futz with figuring out what parts I needed etc.
