I am wondering if you folks think this wall has any chance of being load bearing/structural in any way. I don't think it does but I am looking for opinions.

This is a small closet that we'd like to remove to open our cramped kitchen. The first door is a powder room.

In the basement there is a huge steel support beam that runs across the house horizontally, but this wall is not on top of it at all.

EDIT: Should be more clear...There is a basement under this floor, and a 2nd floor above this floor. This is our 1st floor.

Good job on the pics! I won't speculate on the structural aspect - 'cause I don't know what I'm talking about. But at very least you'll have to move the electric circuit that is in the wall - switches, etc. And you'll have to make sure you don't have any plumbing running in it.

Yes, I am comfortable with electric and as best we can tell there is no plumbing running up it from below. E

I'd pull the drywall ceiling in the closet only. Check joist direction. FIRST, if basement exposed, any HVAC or plumbing lines going up? Doubled joist directly below? Relate.
