I'm currently having my master bathroom remodeled which includes a walk in closet. The shelves in the walk in closet don't have clothing rods below the shelves but instead has a metal piece attached to the front to hang hangers. Can someone please help me identify (actual name) this piece? Also would like to know if there's anything out there with similar functionality. I prefer to use this over a clothing rod or something very similar. Thank you.

Get some ventilated wire shelving with the free slide closet rod and never have to paint or deal with that crap again.

I'm 65 and seen a lot of closets. I've never seen anything like that.

Thanks for the information. Appears this must have been fabricated. We've had these in our master bedroom walk in closet for as long as we've owned the house (approx 12 years). These hold up very well and do a great job. The longest section is approximately 80 inches long and it was maxed out with clothing. No issues what so ever with weight. I liked the fact that it didn't need additional support in the middle and the ends. It appeared to be tacked on the front of the end of the shelf with some nails and was painted. I am surprised this is more widely used.

I have seen that system Jaz, and always hated it. I would rather have a solid steel pipe for hanging hangers on. It is a lot better then some of the crap that is getting installed in closets.

I have a Z bar, like you see in stores that they hang clothes on, downstairs for extra coats and stuff that I do not wear. I still have one in the box, because we ended up getting rid of half of the stuff on the other one.

Thanks JazMan that is exactly the piece I was looking for. I've always liked this particular hanging system. Obviously everyone has their own tastes.

It's a very common way to make a shelf. around here anyway. The pipe bar is so 1960's.
Not sure if this was sarcasm or not JazMan. Is this actually common from where you're from?

Also I did a search for that particular item on google and couldn't find any other websites that had it. I'm sure there's probably other retailers. I live in Arizona do you happen to know of any place in Arizona or another website could possibly have this particular item? Thank you.

I was unable to find a different website to purchase the closet shelf hanging bar. The cost of shipping was more expensive than purchasing 4 pieces. Basic UPS ground shipping.

I was hoping that someone may have an alternative website with this item or know of a location in Arizona that possibly sells this?

Oh sure....the freight from this retailer is gonna be more than the cost of the items. You should be able to find a local retailer though. Just keep looking, I don't know the manufacturer.

Who me..........sarcasm?:wink2: Yes, that system is very common, I've lived with it since the '70's.

I found out who manufactures the closet shelf hanger bar. The manufacturer is Caliber Metals and provides it's products exclusively to wholesale distributors. I sent a request through their website asking if they had any distributors in Arizona but since it was on a weekend I expect I will receive an answer this Monday (04/25/16).

In the meantime, where should I be looking for this particular piece? It's sold from Fingerle lumber company in Michigan so is a lumber company going to be my best bet in Arizona?

I see Caliber is local to me too. I can't imagine they're the only manufacturer of that type of metal, but maybe they know of a lumber yard that has it near you.
