can anyone give some advice for what type of moulding to use for our ceiling. We are painting the room and are going to bring the wall color up to the angled part of the ceiling with the recessed lights, but are looking to put up some trim around the highlighted section of the picture to hide some cracks and also for looks. What is the best kind of moulding to use??

I'd fix the ceiling and skip the molding.
Try a piece of crown molding or cove molding.

joe, why skip it... you don't think it would look good with the textured ceiling or what??

I would use a 1x3 with the edges profiled a little.

#1, no way would I even want a textured ceiling!!!
I'm dealing with one now that's nothing but a dust trap.
Any trim is going to draw the eye up to the flaws in the ceiling.

I wouldn't choose a textured ceiling either, but that's what we got when we bought the house so it wasn't our choice.

There aren't any flaws in the ceiling, it's just textured.
