I recently began the finishing touches on the house ive been building and found the perfect door i wanted, as im doing all the work myself i was wondering if anyone had any tips on installing wrought iron doors (i got the door from this website Adoore.com and heres a picture of it.



id apreciate any help you can give

If they don't supply screws for mounting be sure to get long ones so they will go into the 2Xs behind the jamb. Also make sure you use long screws for the closer mount, it can get abused, and set the chain short to stop it from putting too much stress on the closer mount. If a good wind catches the door it will tear your jamb up and possibly spring the hinges if the closer mount doesn't hold.

One more thing, check to see if the knob on the security door is going to clear the knob on the other door. Sometimes they are in the exact same location and one will not close as both knobs hit.

We need a bit more info----Is your house brick of frame? The link shows some very heavy doors--

Have you contacted the maker for instructions?
