Hello.
I have tried unsuccessfully to attach reclaimed 1" think oak semi truck floorboard to cinderblock. The cinderblock crumbles. The photos show the gap that needs to be dealt with. These are at the top of columns we have updated. The wall is cinderblock (old garage from house built in the early 70's.) I have used tapcons and a cordless drill with no luck. I believe I have attached photos.
Looking for advice here. Thanks in advance.

Are you sure it is a block wall and not just drywall can you show a picture of the hole in the wall.

If you want to shape the board to the shape of the wall, that would take quit some pull.
Ayuh,..... Not that it matters, but most truck trailer deck boards are Apatong, not Oak,....

If yer just puttin' 'em up to dress things up,.....
Like Neal said,.. cuttin'/ trimmin' 'em to fit the wall will help,.......
'n then just glue 'em up,.....
If it needs to be really tight, see if you can find a hollow block and use large toggle bolts then peg the counter sunk screw hole, cut, sand and finish.
I'm with Neal...not seeing any blocks, cinder or otherwise.
