My shower head stops running when I turn off the water. But apparently, there is still water in the head, and maybe 2 minutes later, it will come out, basically all at once.

Hello,
New home build and master shower leaking/running/dripping for around 2 minutes after turning off the shower.
Pex plumbing throughout the house and no toe tester but does have a handheld shower handle.
It was explained to me that this is normal as reserve water needs to go somewhere and because there is no toe tester it comes out of the shower head.
Had similar setup in old home but had copper pipes and I didn't experience this.
Any ideas?
