I have been renovating a vacant house for a few months...and it got broken into.

Stole all my power tools, cordless, corded, air tools, compressor.

I am in the process of replacing them. However I really like the old Porter Cable 3802 12" compound miter saw, are the new PC saws of similar quality? Or have PC gone down in quality since all the mergers and acquisitions?

I have a 12" Delta saw tool and it just collects dust in the corner (they took that too) after I started using the PC saw.

Any other 12" saw I should check out?

My wife bought me the 12" double beveled sliding compound miter saw from harbor freight and it is really nice. Now, I have not used it that many times and this is the first miter saw I have owned so I do not have any comparison, but it has cut the wood for a few different projects and I didn't have any problems. The only two complaints I have about it was that it did not come with a blade (I don't know if that is normal or not) and making sure the fence was straight to the blade so I would get a straight cut was a pain. I think it would be worth looking into. I think I saw it not too long ago on sale for less than $200.

Your tools will be in a pawn shop soon, Find them and get the police involved .

It might take a few months going through court, but you will have satisfaction .

Only works if you have listed the serial numbers on the police report. Don't ask me how I know.

I'm sure that I know how you know.

Still, a person knows their own tools quite intimately.

They know every little scratch and how it got there.

You might know it is your tool but it won't stand up in court. Don't ask.
