This is my first time ever taking something from this close to nature and processing it all the way to a finished product. A friend gave me access to 80-100 downed cedar trees, so I went in to get one of them to see how much trouble it would be and what I could do with it. I have access to just about everything but a sawmill, so I started small with what I could manage without one.

The "easel mode" leg shown below can be reversed and screwed on flat if she wants it to hang on a wall instead of standing up.

Nice work.

I have an idea of what you went through making lumber without a mill. I made a project from an oak stump, was certainly a challenge and never again.
Yeah it involved the same chainsaw I cut the tree up with. And many many times through the planer. It will also be my last time, especially since I've made my deal with a guy with a sawmill 12 miles away.

Nice work. I kept looking at it. Then it dawned on me who it is.

Well done....Especially the milling of the wood..cool. I have an Alaskan MK IIImill I have yet to use. Maybe i'll test it on some of this elm I have cut down....
