this is a 10X12 "shed" for my neighbor's son, sort of a clubhouse. 8' walls framed 2X4 24" OC.
floor is 16OC, with rim joists scribed onto 8 large stones.
rafters are 2X6, 24" OC.
took awhile to figure out how to do this mathematically, but i finally got it.
we wanted to maximize head room for the kid to have a loft up there (floor will be dropped 16" from the top plate, too).
decided to go with an 11-12 pitch with a 12" overhang. cut the four corner rafters, tacked them up first, then slid the ridge in between and nailed everything home. then filled in the commons. all went pretty smoothly, but of course somehow some of the miters didn't sit well.
anyway, i think it looks really great and well proportioned and stuff. will be sheathing with 5/8" OSB and then corrugated roof.
