I am considering finishing my basement myself but wanted to practice on a smaller room in the house so I decided to renovate the powder room. The job has a lot of imperfections (that are not immediately visible) but I'm happy how it looks now (vs previously)

Nice job all around. You do this also in your basement and you'll be proud. I like the bathroom white crispness with change to ship lack walls and trim, and your new floors. Sink is a perfect fit for size of room. Congrats.

Good work! Keep in mind the new basement toilet requires 21" in front of it to the wall... not 12 or so. Try side lighting for the new bath, next to the mirror rather than over it, to lose that "ghoulish" look, or maybe it's me, lol. A double bulb centered ceiling fixture bounces the light off the walls/mirror if walls are painted a lighter color. Experiment with new choices for the basement... nice work. Difficult when space is already set; http://publicecodes.cyberregs.com/icod/irc/2012/icod_irc_2012_3_sec007.htm

Thanks for the suggestions but the plan is to finish the basement (no more bathroom work). I haven't started yet but i plan to post a lot here for help and suggestions on getting the job done.
