The A/C unit is not blowing cold air. The unit outside turns on and is blowing cold air out. Has a new capacitor. What could be the problem? (PS I tried turning on the heat to see if it is working, and it does not turn on at all. Only the a/c turns on) HELP:furious:

Don't know the model number. My husband thought that may have been what went bad. It sounds like the blower is running, I mean it does blow air but it is very warm.

Check

Check for a refrigerant leak, also a.c. Systems normally have a 15 year life expectance if not maintained properly(changing the filter once a month). If ur an a.c. Guy hook up your r10a gauges

Does it sound like the AC always has or does it sound like just a fan running? With no heat coming out the top either the compressor isn't working or there's not enough refrigerant left to transfer the heat. Turn the power off and then check if the compressor wires are in good shape or if one has burnt off.
