Thanks to everyone who reads this post...
I have found the perfect piece of land, and now want to buy an old house that is for sale to be moved. Does any one have ANY advice on this subject?

Look carefully before you leap...meaning explore every side of the box before jumping in. Where the home is you wish to buy, the route it will have to travel, all the charges of the movers, the preparation (foundation, utilities) before the home shows up....and this is just a start. Inspections on the house you will buy....nothing like buying a termite infested nightmare.

That was fun to watch,it looked like the house only moved a block down the street. Believe it or not, one house I am considering is in Delaware!:no:
I still haven't settled on the house, obviously, so I am looking for advice such as....one type of home moves more easily, this type of home may be more likely to have this type of problem, this is a regularly overlooked important thing to do, this is a really good moving service.
It is always the small thing that holds up the project. I guess I am gathering up small things to watch out for.
Of course if I fell into the perfect home, I would probably just buy it, but I havent been able to find one of those without an exorbitant price.:(

I did the same thing...came across a good deal on 5 acres a couple of years ago, then came across a 1920 Craftsman bungalow earlier this year that was going to be demolished. Finally finished with the City's waiting period (was in a historic district) and obtaining permits and HOA approval, doing land clearing and putting in site pad next week, then the house will be cut in half and moved in a couple of weeks. Woohoo!
