I have to move an existing drain for a shower. I have crawl space access to the pipe. I only need to move it about 6 inches at the most - I was planning on cutting the existing pipe (ABS) that shoots straight down into the U-bend, and applying a couple of 45 degree couplers - one to get under the spot I need the drain, and one to straighten the pipe back out. Then to glue them in place - does this sound OK?

Move pipe

Sounds good make sure you use the same kind of pipe ABS with the proper glue.

It should work fine, but according to code a trap riser isnt supposed have an offset in it so that the trap seal can be seen.
