Im installing backsplash today but the tiles are thin. I plan on drilling the tiles after the installation to where its currently mounted, but am afraid of cracking these thin glass tiles. Anyone have any tips or alternatives to prevent cracking a tile? I need the mount on the backsplash. Dont want an under cabinet mount. I guess I could tile around where the mount goes, like maybe leave a clean peice of ply for the mount to sit on and tile around it, that way pressure is directly on the ply and not the tiles?

know there's a special bit for glass but never used it,,, those tiles' are probably fabric mounted - IF some crk, why not just glue the pieces back into place ? even crotchety mothers-in-law rarely look behind tv's

I probably would just tile around the existing bracket. Drilling those small glass tiles is going to probably crack them anyway and the movement of the bracket may cost more to crack over time. Just tile around it and keep enough spare tiles stashed away in case you ever want to remove the bracket in the future.

Another vote to just tile around the bracket. Any tile store will tell you the same thing, or if you need to bump it out, they can drill the holes on a piece of glass tile the size of the bracket for it to attach to on the wall.

Thanks everyone for not letting me drill through the thin glass tiles. That would have been stupid, and a last resort if tile is already installed. Here's the final result..
