motion detector lights

I have a problem, I had two motion detector lights put up one on my garage and one at my back door, they are on the same line, the same switch turns them on, the one on the garage is fine the other only works on dawn to dusk and not on security, someone said it could be because there on the same line but the regular lights worked fine, I've checked the coverage dial and sensitivity. Any ideas
