I have a Moen tub shower from 1990. When the water is flowing to the tub and you pull up on the valve on the spiket the water is coming out both the tub and shower head. Do I remove the tub spiket and is there a vavle to replace or do I replace the spiket and valve together?

The parts are 20 years old, replacing them both would most likely be best.

If so, I would remove the spout and take it to a Plumbing Supply House
(NOT a Home Center) and ask them to match it up.
