Hi everyone. This is my first post and would appreciate some help. I have a dreaded Mixet valve and trim kit in my shower, about 21 years old. I know they're junk but can't afford a total shower redo. I've not read of anyone else having this problem but I was trying to install a new valve and it won't go in all the way. There's a ridge in the pipe about 3 inches in and the valve is too tight to get thru. The old one has no problem. I bought it at Lowes and wonder if the tolerances are off. I tried 2 different ones, same deal. Any ideas? Thanks!

You may want to take the original valve to a plumbing fixture parts supply house and have them match, it if possible. Here in Denver, we have Park Supply of Colorado.
