I have ordered a 3'x4'x1/4" beveled mirror. I plan to construct a frame from some old 1" rough sawn oak of various widths that was used for shelving in an old root cellar. My research led me to a DIY project from the past. In this project a 1/2 inch rabbit was cut 1/4 inch deep around the inside of the frame. A sheet of 1/4 material was cut to fit inside the rabbit and form a solid backing for the frame. My question concerns attaching the mirror. The info. from the past project that I had did not address this. Can a mirror this large and heavy simply be glued into position to the 1/4 ' backing material? This would result in all of the beveled edge being revealed.
