132 sq ft? Any chance you can put in a regular wall unit? It would be way way WAY cheaper, and do the job just as well. A through the wall unit is basically a window air conditioner with some slight modifications. A room that small just doesn't need a split system.

I understand the reasons as you stated them. The split systems are very quiet. They do require 240V and a seperate disconnect outside. I personally would live with the noise, but keeping her happy may be well worth the added costs with the split system. Does that room require heat as well? Some of those systems have heating capability as well. Good luck with the project.

Not at all. I was looking for furnaces that I could purchase w/o an HVAC company and found them that way. I can't give any positive or negative feedback, but the pricing looks good on most things.
