Hello all,
On two sucessive days, I needed to ask a neighbor to jump start my toyota 4 runner. After the 2nd jump, I found out I needed a new battery.
So while searching the net I came across a web site that sells this product that will jump start a automotive 12 volt lead acid battery without the need for another cars battery and jumper cables to do it.
I liked that idea and ordered one to use in an emergency. Then I had my battery replaced.
The only thing that concerns me is that the XP-3 can only be stored at temperatures of 32 degrees F to 106 degrees F. So this rules out keeping it in my vehicle during winter and summer unless I can find a way to insulate it to keep this device at a range just stated.
I tried using a cooler and placed a thermometer in it and the next morning it read in the middle twenties F. I need something much better then a cooler. Does anyone know of a product that will work?
The XP-3 measures 6 inches long by 3 inches wide by 1 inch high.

Here is a picture of the product.

It also comes in different models to suit your taste.

What is the amperage rating on it? Being that small, I have my reservations that it will do as advertised. I have to have 500+AH to jump my Cummins, so it takes a big honker to do that.

The capacity is 8,000 mah. the starting current is 200 amps and the peak current is 400 amps.
The XP-3 is designed for nothing bigger then a 5.7 V8 engine.

I believe the cummings is a diesel, correct? However there are other models that I think are suitable for a diesel and the XP-10 may be the one of choice.
Go to AntigravityBatteries.com for specs on their jump starters.

I have not tested mine as I have a safety question posed to them and are waiting for a reply.
These jump starters will also charge usb devices such as cellphones, tablets etc. Although expensive, I paid $107.95. they can be very usefull if stuck on a back road.

It’s 8,000 mAh.

The mfg says only jump (crank ?) 5 seconds at a time. Let it cool down after 3 attempts. Also, not for diesels. The suggest the 10,000mAh for a diesel.

While it will take care of some of the easy jump starts, there is no way it will handle the hard ones.

IMO, they are overselling (marketing) their product.

The specs are impressive. Glad to hear your happy with it.
I couldn't swear to it, but I think the F-450 had a 6.7L Powerstroke in it. It was a cold morning but the truck was warmed up. He had a battery that was dodgy that the company mechanic wouldn't replace. I bought this because I had a Navigator at the time, with a 5.4L engine. It started my Navigator, and has started several 4 and 6 cylinder engines in various parking lots over the last couple of years. Something like this should be in everyone's glove box.

My specs say that I should store my device in temperatures not less then 32 degrees F or more then 106 degrees F. Are your specs simular? Then how does your glove box keep your device within the temperature specs through cold winter and summer heat?
I am thinking of making my own insulated box. My cooler idea did not work. Iplace a warm cooler and a thermometer in my toyota and close the lid. the following morning, the thermometer read 24 degrees F.

I haven't used it in extreme temperatures. The tmeperature when it started the service truck was below freezing, but not by much. Never used it when it was really hot. I just stick it in the glove box and not really worry about it. Since Kentucky doesn't get bitterly cold very often, it hasn't been an issue. If I lived up north, I guess I would keep it inside the house in a canvas bag and take it in at night, and back out with me in the morning

Excludes my 5.9 Cummins. Darn, I almost punched purchase.
It isn't rated to start a diesel that big, but it started the Powerstroke. Probably because his truck had been driven from the nearby power company truck lot, so it was warm, and because (he said) the battery had a cell going bad. Frankly, I didn't think the gooloo pack would work. I pulled in to get gas about 7:30 in the morning, he saw I was driving a Navigator so he waved at me and asked for a jump. He had the biggest set of jumper cables I've ever seen and was wearing a power company reflective vest, so I said sure. I said, "let's try this little thing first, since it can't hurt." I stuck it on one of the two batteries, and he cranked. It paused a second, but started the truck. Pretty impressive.
