We bid on a large project but didn't get it. The client (a major residential builder) was supplying the material becaise they could get a better rate than I. Our role was to install the verticle siding on a high wall. We bid at 4.50 per sq foot. Without asking for labour rates or installation only rates, were we "in the ballpark"? Normally when I do siding we quote per sq. ft. but include siding and overhead and wages, etc, This was unique but would be interested in some feedback. Thanks.

That’s $450 a sq. for labor only. $270 for just one of the 20’ panels you mentioned in your other thread.

Even if you and a helper can only do five panels an hour that’s $1350 per hr for two guys.

You can sign me up. I’ll even buy lunch, dinner and all the drinks at the end of the day too. :thumbup:

I bet the winning bid was more like a buck a foot (probably much less)...that stuff covers a lot of wall real fast.

Makes sense. One site I was on worked out that for the area (about 13000 sq ft. it would take some 378 hours. I wonder how some "professional sites" gather their information. As to the price per sq ft, we were considering height, obstacles and basic coverage. Trying to get infromation from siding companies is like pulling hens teeth. We still don't know what a respectful rate would be. Thanks for your feedback.
