i am thinking of metal siding and roofing for my cabin. should i put osb on then house wrap, then strap for metal or just wrap right on the studding. i have seen it done both ways.

you could do it either way but it's nice to have a 1/2'' of sheathing,giving you a nice flat surface to lay your window flashing details on

plus it makes window and door installations easier and you will have the correct wall thickness for standard units

osb is much more sensitive to water, if you ever get a leak. it tends to swell and get soft. also, i don't like having to screw anything into it; screws just don't anchor as well as w/ plywood.
