i was wondering it if is OK to have MC cable run vertically between two studs equidistant and not stapled to either stud. it is because i have a cable stapled to both studs in the same space.

is it even necessary to ever staple MC cable considering its armor? i would guess not but i still do it for the neatness of it.

(A) General.

Type MC cable shall be supported and secured by staples, cable ties, straps, hangers, or similar fittings or other approved means designed and installed so as not to damage the cable."​

unless fished inside cavities mc cable must be supported. in wood studs staples are the easiest.
