I have a Maytag LAT9806AAE washer which won't drain on some cycles. It does drain and spin on Sensi-car for Hand Washables cycle.

This leads me to believe the pump, belt, and motor are probably okay. What controls the different cycles? Would that be the knob itself on the control panel?

Your problem is slow drainage. Check the pump for partial blockage. Also look at the drain hose for blockage.

Your machine is timing out because the water is not leaving the machine fast enough.

It's not blocked. On the Sensi-Care for Hand Washables cycle the washer performs normally, drains, and spins. On regular cycle it will not drain or spin. If you turn the dial around to the spin setting on the Sensi-Care cycle it will drain and spin.

I agree with you, If it drains and spins only on that cycle, I would suspect the timer dial as well.

Only problem, depending on your machine, the part can be expensive. 50-150 dollars.

I agree with you, If it drains and spins only on that cycle, I would suspect the timer dial as well.

I forgot to thank you! I bought a new timer and fixed the washer.
