I have an interior cinder block wall that I'd like to fasten some decorative wood plank panneling. I am wondering if they make a solid plastic slug insert that I can predrilled a hole into the block wall, insert the plastic then drive a finishing nail into.

You might try what we do when we pin to concrete.

We drill a hole and put wire or nylon trimmer string in the hole and drive the nail in.
We drill a 3/16" hole for a 3" construction nail that is about 1/8" diameter.
