I hope this belongs in this area. I don't really think it's something others would think is an improvement, but I'm about to try to make a bathtub for our tiny house.

In one of my favorite movies from my youth, Blazing Saddles, Gene Wilder was taking a bath in a wooden barrel. That's where I got the weird idea.

Has anyone here ever converted a barrel -- rain barrel, whiskey barrel, potato barrel -- into a bathtub?

Haven't, but it can't be that hard. Do you have any distilleries near you? You plan on putting a liner in it? Not sure, if you are going for wood, you want the charcoal lined part of a bourbon barrel. I am guessing you are slighter of stature? I can get in a barrel, just not sure I can get out of it once I am in.

Hi Laisha and good job thinking outside the box, or barrel in this case. Other than movies I have never seen it done. There would be issues with it leaking as the water needs to soak into the wood so it will swell tight. Old wood boats do the same.

For space considerations have you thought about just a shower? Mobile homes and campers combine both.
